Sleeper Truck Body Damage Repairs for SJC Farm

The process of full body repairs for semi trucks requires inspection, disassembly, structural repairs, body panel repairs or replacement, painting and refinishing. Once reassembled, the truck undergoes extensive quality control to ensure all repairs have been completed to its proper factory safety and functional standards.

Client Background

SJC Farm is located in Franklinville, New Jersey. The organization has been around for almost ten years and primarily operates in the General Farms, Crop business/industry within the Agricultural Production – Crops sector.

The Challenge

SJC purchased the truck of their choice at an outside dealership and were unhappy with the color. The truck, a 2007 Peterbilt Sleeper, also had extensive body damage that needed repairing.

Our Solution

Our technicians went to work on this full body repair and repaint job. They started with evaluating the severity of the damage. Upon closer inspection, corrosion was found and repaired. Typically, rust repair involves removal, stabilization, patches of any holes or damage, and applying a protective finish to prevent future corrosion.

Moving on, the remaining body damage was restored, including the rear fiberglass full fenders. Generally, to fix a fiberglass fender on a semi truck, the technician follows a multi-step process. This involves removing any damage, applying a new layer of fiberglass and resin, then finishing the surface to match the original. Keep in mind, the procedure may vary slightly based on the extent of the damage. Of the remaining body improvements, they performed an axle alignment.

First, our team sandblasted the exterior to remove the original coat of paint. Then they repainted it with an Axalta base in Kelly Green and finished with a glossy, protective clear coat.

The Result

SJC Farm was very happy with the quality of restorations. The client pointed out how much they liked the color of the paint, which we selected for their Peterbilt Sleeper. They conveyed their appreciation and surprise of the minimal time it took to complete the scope of full body repairs.
