Full Dump Body Repaint for Elite Trucking

Repainting a dump truck involves significant prep work. The first steps are to wash, sand, and repair any rust or damage. Next, apply primer to further protect the metal. Finally, add multiple coats of durable, high-quality paint and cure to achieve maximum longevity.

Client Background

Elite Paving provides asphalt and paving services for residential, commercial, and industrial properties in Lancaster and Bucks counties.

The Challenge

Elite sought after changing the color of their Kenworth T880 Tri-Axle Dump truck from blue to white. The truck was in excellent condition, but featured decals on both doors and the dump body.

Our Solution

Our body shop technicians started by removing the business’ decals before the repaint. Typically, this process uses a combination of heat, specialized tools, and adhesive removers to safely take these stickers off the exterior of a truck.

After removing the decals, our team began repainting. The entire dump body was coated — including the door jambs, under hood, as well as the underside of the dump body. Then, it was recolored with a factory Imron base and finished with a clear top coat for high-quality results.

The Result

Our team successfully painted Elite’s T880 Dump, removing the decals so new ones could be added. Within two weeks, Elite had their truck back on the road with a fresh painted, like-new look.
