Complete Sweeper Truck Color Change for Evercor Facility Management

A complete semi-truck color change involves a full repaint to the truck’s exterior. The options for a color change range from a basic single-color recoat to complex multi-color designs. A full repaint starts with sanding the existing paint. Next, apply a coat of primer, then several coats of new paint with a durable, long-lasting finish.

Client Background

Evercor Facility Management specializes in the support of commercial, industrial, and distribution center properties throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. They offer landscape and facility maintenance; pest control; snow, ice, and stormwater management; sinkhole, parking lot, and road services; commercial cleaning and building inspections; plus more.

Evercor is one of most loyal customers. They continue to bring their trucks to our Coopersburg Kenworth body shop and semi truck service center for repairs and maintenance.

The Challenge

Evercor sought to alter their fleet of sweeper trucks — which were originally white with a red stripe — to match their existing fleet in a singular custom color. This was a detail-oriented job that we completed on four of their vehicles.

Our Solution

We offered Evercor our complete repainting services, which were carried out on-site in our state-of-the-art paint booth. Our body shop team took to changing the exterior color by first accessing all areas of the truck. Since sweepers have a unique build, our team needed to operate the vehicle for access to the back and underside of the sweeper unit. They painted all parts of the vehicle, including the door jambs and under the hood. No part of the body was left its original color.

The Result

Every sweeper truck’s exterior color was altered from its original white with red stripe to a striking Viper Red. Our on-site paint booth features a 2.7 million BTU heater with a full bake cycle. So, customers can count on professional work from our certified technicians with excellent results.

This was an extremely labor-intensive job. Sweepers are not a type of truck that our team sees every day. They needed to be familiar with not only the truck type, but learn how to operate and disassemble the body as-needed for the color change.

Conclusion

This case demonstrates our capability to handle a challenging task, regardless of familiarity with the truck type. Our team was able to complete this large-scale task on four vehicles by learning about how the truck operates and disassembles, prepare and paint the entire exterior, then reassemble the parts correctly for the customer.
