Why Repaint a Brand-New Truck?
Repainting a brand-new truck is often the fastest and most cost-effective option. Instead of waiting 6+ weeks for a factory order, customers can choose from available inventory and have the truck repainted to match their fleet in as little as one to two weeks.
It also allows customers to take advantage of lower-priced leftover new inventory, like available 2025 models, instead of ordering a newer 2026 model at a higher cost.
The Challenge
Divers Trucking LLC needed their brand new Kenworth T880 tri-axle dump truck to match the color of their existing trucks. They came to us with a common challenge: a full truck repaint, changing the color from Viper Blue to Viper Red.
Customer Fleet Repaint Project
Divers Trucking LLC is based out of Orefield, Pennsylvania. This was their first experience with Coopersburg Kenworth’s body shop.
Our Solution
Our body shop technicians started by removing all the truck’s components before the repaint. Then the entire cab was sanded and prepped for repainting. This included the underside of the hood and the cab’s door jambs. When the end goal is a like-new paint job and finish, every surface of the truck gets painted.
After masking all non-painted surfaces and repainting the cab and hood, the truck was baked at a high temperature for 45 minutes to achieve a factory/OEM-like finish.
Once we repainted and quality-checked the cab, our team prepped and painted the entire dump body the same way, masking the cab and hood assembly during the process. A new dump truck repaint at Coopersburg Kenworth includes the underside of the dump body.
The Result
Our team painted every square inch of Divers’s T880 dump truck, using a factory equivalent Axalta Imron Base Clear paint. Our team transformed the truck from Viper Blue to Viper Red.
Conclusion
In under two weeks, this 2025 T880 was repainted from Viper Blue to Viper Red and ready to join the customer’s fleet. The result: a professional, fleet-matched finish made to endure the toughest of work conditions.
